Overview

Kind Cadence ("we", "the app") is a cycling coaching companion. This policy explains what data we process when you use our website and mobile apps at kindcadence.app.

Data we collect

  • Strava data — When you connect Strava, we access activities, profile info (FTP, weight, heart rate), and related metrics via the Strava API to generate coaching insights. We do not sell this data.
  • Health & sleep data — If you import from Apple Health or similar, we store sleep hours, HRV, resting heart rate, and related metrics you send to our API.
  • Coaching preferences — Goals, fueling setup, feedback ratings, and settings you save in the app.
  • Location — Only when you allow it in the browser or app, to fetch local weather for ride guidance. Not stored long-term.
  • Technical data — Standard server logs, cookies for authentication (Strava tokens, demo mode), and session identifiers.

How we use data

Data is used solely to provide personalized cycling coaching: readiness scores, ride recommendations, fueling guidance, recovery insights, and training trends. We do not use your data for advertising.

Storage

Coaching preferences and health sync data are stored in encrypted cloud databases (Vercel / Redis). Strava tokens are stored in secure HTTP-only cookies. Data is tied to your Strava athlete ID or an anonymous session for demo mode.

Third parties

  • Strava API — activity and athlete data (with your consent)
  • Open-Meteo — weather data (no personal data sent)
  • Vercel — hosting and infrastructure
  • Upstash / Redis — preference storage

Your rights

You can disconnect Strava at any time (sign out in the app). You can disconnect health data via the health settings. To request deletion of stored coaching data, contact us at privacy@kindcadence.app.
